Muvattupuzha: After numerous complaints, power has finally been restored at the Muvattupuzha Children’s Park — but only partially. Currently, just three lights are functioning, while the rest of the park remains in darkness due to missing bulbs and broken fixtures.
The municipal park had been without lighting for an extended period due to a fault in the power supply network. Most of the lighting systems were in disrepair, with many bulbs missing and several fixtures damaged beyond use.
The absence of proper lighting has forced parents and children to vacate the park well before sunset, prompting protests from local residents. Following complaints filed by park staff, officials from the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) inspected the site, identified the issue, and restored the power supply.
However, much to the disappointment of visitors, only three lights became operational after restoration. A closer inspection revealed that the majority of the park’s lights are still non-functional due to broken fittings and missing bulbs.
The situation has intensified calls for urgent action to fully restore the park’s lighting system and ensure safety and usability for the public.
