Kozhikode: The Beypore Coastal Police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old Bangladeshi national for illegally entering India and working in Kozhikode. The accused, identified as Neppal Chandra Jwala Dhas, a native of Dhaka, had been living in the city posing as a West Bengal native.

Police said Dhas entered India around 10 months ago without valid travel documents and obtained a fake Aadhaar card from Kolkata for ₹500. He reportedly travelled across several states before arriving in Kozhikode two months ago, where he started working as a fisherman at the Beypore harbour.

The arrest was made by a team led by Beypore Coastal Police Station Inspector Renjith K Viswanath, with Sub-Inspectors Santhosh, Vinod, and Sajeev. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
