Mild tremors felt in Kozhikode, no damage reported

Kozhikode: Residents of Muthukad in Chakkittapara grama panchayat reported mild tremors and underground rumbling sounds around 4.45 pm on Monday. Locals in the 5th and 6th wards experienced vibrations, with household items such as vessels reportedly shaking, according to panchayat president K Sunil Kumar.

No structural damage or cracks were observed, and police inspected the area following the reports. Officials from the geology department are expected to visit the site on Tuesday to conduct a detailed examination and determine the cause of the tremors. Further action will be taken based on their findings, Sunil said.
