The Pets World at Konni Fest showcases an eye-catching mix of rare and exotic species. On display here are a wide variety of species, including Blue and Gold Macaw parrots, non-venomous African Ball Python snakes and the Sugar Glider, a tiny Australian native squirrel.
Visitors can also get a chance to see the pheasant poultry, which is believed to have the capacity to sense earthquakes, nearly 15 varieties of ornamental chickens from foreign breeds and Konoor parrots in ten different varieties. The collection also includes Canadian pygmy pigs and fancy Banur breed goats, among several other attractions.
Adding to the festive mood, a Santa Claus meet will be held at the festival venue on Christmas night to spread a message of peace beneath a starlit sky. The rhythmic beats of carol groups and the energetic dances of Santa Claus figures too will light up the venue.
The celebrations will continue today with a Christmas Carol Eve at 7 PM, followed by carol songs and a musical programme led by Avani Santosh. Cultural programmes the next day will begin at 5 PM with a Kaikottikali performance, followed by Lasya Vismayam at 7.30 PM. A musical comedy night featuring Binu Mallassery and Ajesh Kottayam, beginning at 8 PM, will cap the festivities for the day.
