Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government on Wednesday issued orders promoting five 2008 batch IPS officers of the Kerala cadre to the rank of Inspector General of Police, with effect from January 1, 2026.
The officers promoted to the IGP grade, Level 14 of the IPS Pay Matrix with a pay scale of ₹1,44,200 to ₹2,18,200, are Putta Vimaladitya, S Ajeetha Begum, R Nishanthini, S Sateesh Bino and Rahul R Nair. The promotions were ordered with the concurrence of the Union government under the IPS Pay Rules, 2016.
The government also ordered a series of transfers and postings. Gajulavarti Sparjan Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Crimes I, Thiruvananthapuram, has been posted as IGP, South Zone. S Syamsundar, IGP, South Zone, has been transferred as IGP, Intelligence. He will also hold full additional charge as Managing Director of the Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation Limited.
On promotion, Putta Vimaladitya has been posted as IGP, Internal Security, with additional charge of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anti-Terrorist Squad. S Ajeetha Begum has been posted as IGP, Economic Offences Wing, Thiruvananthapuram, and will also hold additional charge of IGP, Crimes I, Thiruvananthapuram, and the Social Policing Directorate. R Nishanthini has been posted as IGP, Headquarters, while S Sateesh Bino has been posted as IGP, Armed Police Battalions.
In a separate order, the government promoted three 2012 batch IPS officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Level 13A of the IPS Pay Matrix with a pay scale of ₹1,31,100 to ₹2,16,600, with effect from January 1, 2026. The officers promoted are Sivavikram G, Arul R B Krishna and J Himendranath.
As part of the reshuffle, Thomson Jose, DIG and Commissioner of Police, Thiruvananthapuram City, has been posted as DIG, Vigilance. Hari Sankar, DIG, Thrissur Range, has been transferred as DIG and Commissioner of Police, Kochi City, while Karthick K, DIG, Vigilance, has been posted as DIG and Commissioner of Police, Thiruvananthapuram City.
On promotion, Arul R B Krishna has been posted as DIG, Thrissur Range, and J Himendranath as DIG, Thiruvananthapuram Range.
