Pathanamthitta: A cobra caused a scare on Friday afternoon after it was spotted perched atop an electric pole under the scorching midday sun. Locals near Konnamoodu first noticed the snake around 3 pm. It is believed the cobra climbed the power cable using a nearby wall and leafy vines.
The Forest Department was immediately alerted, and Rapid Response Team member MS Firos Khan arrived to carry out the rescue. Using a stick, he carefully coaxed the snake down the pole, and it eventually made its way safely onto the ground.
After about half an hour, the cobra was secured in a sack and transported to the Forest Department office. Authorities later confirmed that the snake would be released into the forested areas near Moozhiyar.
