KLOO app helps travellers find clean public toilets across Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta: Finding a clean toilet while travelling in Pathanamthitta just got easier. The KLOO app now maps 54 public and private facilities across the district, making hygiene and convenience just a tap away.

Developed by the Suchitwa Mission, the app aims to make access to hygienic facilities easier for everyone.The listed toilets are spread across Pathanamthitta, Konni, Ranni, Pandalam, Kozhencherry, Adoor, Thiruvalla and Mallappally. While some locations in the app lack clarity, all included facilities have been rated according to Suchitwa Mission standards. Users can also rate and provide feedback directly through the app. At present, toilets in hotels within Pathanamthitta have had no complaints, as they are under direct supervision of the mission. However, frequent travellers note that stricter monitoring is needed in other areas.

Since its launch on December 23, the KLOO app has already been downloaded over 1,000 times from the Play Store. The initiative is a collaboration between the Suchitwa Mission, local bodies and the Federation of Kerala Hotels Association. Government-run ‘Take a Break’ centres with high ratings have also been included in the app.

“Pathanamthitta is the only district in the state where star hotels have been integrated into the KLOO app as part of the Swachh Mission project. Users can rate facilities through the app or report issues directly to the Suchitwa Mission. In the next phase, navigation will be smoother, and travellers can suggest new centres. We also plan to introduce additional paid facilities in private hotels for enhanced convenience,” said Nifi S Huq, District Coordinator, Shuchitwa Mission.
