Ottappalam/ Palakkad: A woman travelling on a moving bus suddenly collapsed with severe chest pain, but quick thinking by the driver and conductor ensured she was rushed to the hospital in time for emergency care.

The incident happened around 12.30 pm on Tuesday aboard the ‘Pratheeksha’ bus operating on the Ottappalam–Velliyad route. The 47-year-old woman, a native of Ottappalam, was travelling with her daughter when she collapsed. Driver K C Ravikumar and conductor C Madhusoodanan, with the support of fellow passengers, drove the bus directly to Vaniyamkulam hospital without stopping at any intermediate stations.

After receiving emergency treatment, the woman’s condition stabilised. She had earlier undergone a keyhole surgery.
