Attack on actress: Pulsar Suni showed visuals to his friends

Kochi: A Kerala police team investigating the Malayalam actress attack case has learned that Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, has shown the visuals of the assault he captured on his mobile phone to several people.

Police recorded statements by Suni's friends that he showed the footage to them. This will help the prosecution's case against Suni as the police are yet to trace the visuals that he took during the attack.

Police will present the statement by Manu, a friend of Suni, before the court. Suni had visited Manu's house at Kakkazham in Ambalapuzha the morning after the attack on the actress.

The visuals captured by Suni on his mobile phone were also seen by his partners in crime later. The police are hoping that these visuals can be retrieved from the electronic devices they have confiscated from houses linked to Suni.

Police have forwarded the confiscated memory cards and pen drives to forensic department without trying them on their computers. This was done intentionally to make sure that the footage, if it's there in the devices, is recovered using foolproof methods.

The police have not got any new vital information from Suni even after keeping him in custody for six days. He has only changed his statement on where he abandoned the mobile phone.

At first, he said that he left the phone in a drainage at Ponnurunni, and later, he changed the spot to Kochi lake. The police have not succeeded yet in figuring out the truth.

The police team is planning to submit its chargesheet including all the statements they have. This will include the statement of the actress.

The police are hoping that even without the visuals on Suni's phone, they will be able to nail the accused in the chargesheet as the team got hold of CCTV visuals of their moves in the night when the attack took place.

The actress, who starred in Tamil and Telugu films besides Malayalam, was allegedly abducted and molested inside her car on the night of February 17 near Kochi.

Six persons, including Pulsar Suni and his five accomplices, had been arrested in connection with the incident.
