Kottayam: If you live in Kottayam and the shortage of hands for plucking coconuts and caring for the trees is bothering you, here comes the solution!

Trained coconut palm climbers in Mundakapadam village, who earn their livelihood by harvesting coconuts with the help of machines, have joined hands to form an association to enable the customers book their service by calling over 9745266858.

The meeting held here the other day also decided to provide insurance cover to all registered members besides ensuring provision of all welfare scheme benefits to them.

The meeting also urged the government to include all the labourers who make a living with the help of specially-designed palm climbers in the skilled worker category.

The officer-bearers of the association are: P. P. Johnson (president), Prajeesh (vice-president), Rajeev Thuruthupally (secretary), Biju Kochupurathattu (joint secretary), and Muraleedharan (treasurer).
