Thrissur: The Thrissur vigilance court on Saturday issued an order to charge a case against IG Suresh Raj Purohit for letting his minor son drive his official vehicle. The court also ordered a probe against the Viyyur SI, who refused to file a case in the incident.
Few days ago, visuals were out which showed the minor son of Suresh Raj Purohit, IG, Ramavarmapuram police academy, driving the official vehicle inside the academy campus. There were three video clips of five-minute duration each. Though IG was not there in the vehicle, the police driver was seen seated to the right of the boy while he was driving.
The boy, a Plus One student, is seen driving different vehicles in the three clips. While one video showed him driving the car of the IG, Thrissur Range, another showed him driving the vehicle of the IG of police academy. The official flag and name board is visible in the video clips.
