Thiruvananthapuram: The vigilance court Saturday asked the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) to conduct further probe into the nepotism charges against former industries minister E.P. Jayarajan.
The VACB on Friday booked the senior CPM leader in a case related to alleged nepotism in appointments in key posts in PSUs during his tenure. The court has accepted the FIR filed by the VACB against him.
Jayarajan's nephew Sudheer Nambiar, son of party's Kannur MP P.K. Sreemathi, and additional chief secretary (industries) Paul Antony are also accused in the case.
According to vigilance sources here, the case was registered for "violating due process of selection" while appointing Sudheer as the managing director in Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Ltd.
