Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) on Saturday sought some more time to complete the probe into the allegations against R. Sreelekha, ADGP, Intelligence. The deadline to file a report of quick verification against her ended on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the vigilance court here directed the department to inform it of the time required to complete the investigation.
Senior IPS officer and transport commissioner Tomin J. Thachankary had leveled a slew of charges against Sreelekha during her tenure as the transport commissioner. It included the transfer of officials of the motor vehicles department flouting norms, diversion of road safety fund for personal needs, modernization of the RTO office in Palakkad in violation of norms, unlawful use of official vehicle and so on.
Social activist Jomon Puthenpurackal had filed a petition seeking a quick verification against Sreelekha following the charges.
