Jacob Martin, a former Indian cricketer and ex-Baroda captain, is battling for his life and is currently on ventilator at a hosptital in Vadodara. He had sustained injuries to his lungs and liver in a road accident on December 28.

As per reports, Martin's wife had written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seeking help and the board sanctioned Rs 5 lakh.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly also came forward to help and effected a bank transfer in Martin's favour. Former Baroda Cricket Association secretary Sanjay Patel was among those who offered help to Jacob's family. Patel is also organising funds to meet the high cost of Martin’s treatment.

Krunal Pandya, elder brother of Hardik Pandya, has left a blank cheque with Patel. "Sir, please fill up whatever is needed, but nothing less than Rs 1 lakh," Krunal told Patel, according to reports.
