The Muthoot Pappachan Centre of Excellence in Sports (MPCES) signed a deal with German football giants Borussia Dortmund to launch a youth development programme in Kerala. Dortmund are one of the biggest clubs in the German Bundesliga with a huge fan base.

Thomas Muthoot, Director of Muthoot Pappachan Group and Christian Diercks, Managing Director, BVB Evonik Football Academy, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU). Hannah Muthoot, Director, Muthoot Sports, was present at the signing.

"This partnership is not just about developing players; it's about shaping the future and awakening potential," said Thomas Muthoot. Hannah Muthoot said they aim to harness Kerala's passion to build character, bridge social divides and create leaders of tomorrow beyond the pitch.

Last month, Hannah Muthoot posted about travelling across Europe to understand "the football ecosystems that consistently produce world-class talent". In a post on LinkedIn, she said her biggest takeaway from visiting the football academies in Europe, including that of Dortmund, was that "football development doesn't begin at the elite academies. It begins at age five - with movement, play and joy".
