Kerala Blasters have kicked off their pre-season after a long delay due to the uncertainty over the next Indian Super League (ISL) campaign. Head coach David Catala has at least 20 players available to work with at the start, including four foreigners.
Star attackers Adrian Luna and Noah Sadaoui, along with Dusan Lagator and fresh signing Koldo Obieta, are part of the camp that is underway at the Parra Ground in Goa. The preparations are held ahead of the Super Cup, starting October 25.
"All available Indian players have reported for training, with a few exceptions due to national team commitments," said the Blasters in a statement. Danish Farooq is with the senior national team that is preparing for a double header in the AFC Asia Cup qualifiers against Singapore. Vibin Mohanan, Korou Singh, Bikash Yumnam, Saheef, Mohammed Aimen, Sumit Sharma, and Sreekuttan M S are with the India U-23 squad.
The Blasters are in Group D alongside Mumbai City FC, Hyderabad FC and Rajasthan United FC. The Kerala side will begin their campaign against Rajasthan United on October 30, followed by Hyderabad FC (Nov 3) and Mumbai City (Nov 6).
