Kochi is among the 11 Indian coastal cities that will be on the cyclothon’s route.

Cyclists of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will embark on a mega cyclothon starting March 7, covering 6,553 kilometres along India's coastal cities, including Kochi.

Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually flag off the 25-day event titled 'Great Indian Coastal Cyclothon' from the CISF Regional Training Centre at Thakkolam in Tamil Nadu.

In addition to Kochi, 125 cyclists from CISF will visit the coastal cities of Lakhpat, Bakkhali, Mumbai, Goa, Mangalore, Haldia, Konark, Vizag, Chennai, Pondicherry and Kanyakumari.

The cyclothon has two starting points: Lakhpat in Gujarat on the western side and Bakkhali in West Bengal on the eastern coast. The 25-day expedition will conclude at the Swami Vivekananda Memorial in Kanyakumari on March 31.
