'Karineela Kannulla Pennu' Madhuri Braganza, who starred in the award-winning film 'Joseph' as Lisamma, is also a true blue explorer. She often shares interesting experiences and foods from her trips via her social media page as well. Her latest trip was to a beautiful village in Sri Lanka called Hikkaduwa, known for its vibrant coastal resorts, surf breaks and coral reefs.
"I will never get sick of visiting this country. I love you fiercely SL; see you soon," Madhuri says on her social media post. From making new friends, enjoying stunning views, to trying exciting seafood dishes, Madhuri seems to have had a great time at the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean.'

Hikkaduwa, which is located around 98 km south of the Sri Lankan capital Colombo, is known to be a tourist spot even from the colonial times. Apparently, it transitioned from being a picturesque, little-known village to a popular getaway during the 1800s! In the 60s, it was also one of the first beach destinations international tourists preferred the most, say travel historians.
