Sreenarayanapuram waterfall, the Niagara of Idukki, is a must-see

The pristine beauty of Idukki has been elevated to a new level with the arrival of the monsoon, as the rains have transformed this mountainous region into a hauntingly ethereal landscape. The various tourist spots in the district have presented numerous opportunities for tourists to experience the raw charm of the rains as part of monsoon tourism. Though Idukki is replete with lofty mountains, lush green forests and meandering rivers, a lot of waterfalls take the spotlight when monsoon comes calling. As per a rough estimate, there are more than 500 waterfalls in Idukki. 

Are you on the lookout for a waterfall that is bewitching? If so, head to Sreenarayanapuram, which is near Rajakkad in Idukki. You will be bowled over by a scenic waterfall, which is also known as Ripple Waterfalls. The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) has also put in place a pavilion for travellers to enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. You can reach the wonderful cascade after travelling for 3km from Panniyarkutty, which can be reached via Adimali-Kallarkutty.

The Sreenarayanapuram waterfall is on the way to Rajakkad via Kunjithanni on the Kochi-Dhanushkodi national highway. The five waterfalls, stacked next to each other on the Muthirapuzha River, 1.5 km from Thekkinkanam, are a treat for the eyes. Hundreds of tourists come to this picturesque spot to experience the visual grandeur of the exquisite waterfalls. The energy level of the waterfall may dip in summer. The river will be at its best after a rainfall, and that makes Sreenarayanapuram the sought-after destination of waterfall lovers.
