Would you believe that these places are in Kerala

Unseen Kerala
Unseen Kerala. Photo: Praveen Elayi

Trust us, all these photos were taken during the many trips Praveen Elayi made across Kerala. We bring you some of scenic views as he travels across God's Own Country. Each photo, he says tells a story. **Marayoor to Kanthaloor** This photo was taken as he drove through Mayaroor through Kanthaloor on his way to Munnar. Kanthalloor is a place where apples and sugarcanes are grown in Kerala. It was early in the morning and the hills, the wisps of clouds and the pretty greens just makes this photo look ethereal. **On the way to Munnar** A higher elevation here, the rolling valley dotted with tall trees and the sun casting shadows. **A lonely island** Veettikuthu is an island in Parambikulam. A half an hour journey on a bamboo raft which used to be steered by the tribal watchmen is the only way to reach this island. These tribal people catch fish from the stream and fry it for you. This is perhaps one of the best places in the area to watch the sunset. You have to be careful about crocodiles, though. **Vagamon to Kanjar** This is the road from Vagamon to Kanjar. Praveen says the weather keeps changing every couple of minutes. When they reached this place, there was no sun in sight, they waited for a couple of minutes and the sun god made his presence felt. **Foothills of Chokramudi** Chokramudi is the third highest peak in Kerala. It is very near Munnar and is a place where the 'Neelakurinji' blooms. The rolling mist, the trees, the hills and the sunlight seeping through makes it appear like a heaven on earth. **Meesapulimala** This, says Praveen, is a once in a lifetime shot. The distinct layers in the photo was a gift of nature, he says. The lighting and the photo just happened, he says. Meesapulimala is in Idukki district.
