KSRTC’s budget tourism cell in Malappuram has launched affordable leisure trips to Goa's sandy beaches. This is currently the longest leisure trip operated by the KSRTC from a depot in Kerala. Meanwhile, the bus starts at 2 pm on July 10 from the Malappuram depot. A super deluxe bus would transport passengers to Thalappady, on the state border in Kasargod. From here, the journey will continue in an AC bus. The ticket costs Rs 7550 per person, including accommodation in air-conditioned rooms and local food.
Leisure trips are also scheduled from Malappuram to popular out-of-state destinations such as Mysuru and Ooty, as well as Munnar – Vattavada, Illickal Kallu – Malankara Dam, Malakkapara, Gavi – Kumily, Kannur Paithalmala, Wayanad Jungle Safari, Ponmudi, Silent Valley, Kumarakam houseboat, Mattancherry, and Nelliyambathy in Kerala. Besides, passengers can enjoy Ernakulam Nalambala Darshan (pilgrimage to four temples), Aranmula Vallasadya, a visit to the Pancha Pandava temple, and a pilgrimage to the famous temples in Guruvayoor and Kadampuzha as part of celebrating the sacred month of Karkidakam.
