Planning to take the Etihad Rail? Here are the new rules

UAE's Etihad Rail, which began operations in June this year, links all seven emirates of the country. It is a lightning-fast travel option in the UAE, as it significantly reduces travel time between the emirates. Now, they have added more measures to improve travel time on the rail service. Here are the details:

Arrive early before departure
Etihad Rail has advised passengers to arrive at the station at least 20 minutes before departure. Passengers won’t receive a refund or compensation if they miss the train. Also, the boarding gate will close two minutes before the train departs the station. Passengers won’t be allowed to enter the platform after the boarding gate closes. The ticket would be considered invalid if the passenger doesn’t show up and doesn't cancel the ticket.

What if the train is delayed?
If the train is delayed by half an hour or more, the full amount will be refunded, or the passenger can switch to another train at no additional charge. If the passenger misses a rail–to–rail connection because of an Etihad Rail delay, they will rebook the passenger onto the next available service at no additional cost.

Passengers should check the departure screens and information boards at the station to arrive at the right platform to board the train. Meanwhile, the authorities stated that the rail–to–rail guarantee does not apply if the connection is to a Dubai Metro, taxi, or other transport operator.
