Kumarakom: Innovative arrangements are being put in place for the officers’ meet scheduled to take place at the noted tourism destination of Kumarakom in Kerala during March 30- April 2 as part of the G20 summit being hosted by India later this year. Among them is a ceiling with bamboo poles at the newly-built convention centre on the premises of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation’s (KTDC’s) resort Waterscapes which, the authorities said, would provide perfect acoustics to the venue.

Such a facility with bamboo is very rare in Kerala, they added. Another advantage of a bamboo ceiling is its long life.

Eco-friendly meet

The G20 officers' meet will take place in eco-friendly settings. While the illumination installed on the premises is nature-friendly, the hall and surroundings are decorated with plants and unique varieties of lawns. The entrance gate of the KTDC resort also is spruced up with bamboo.
