Kottayam: KSRTC has added the Arabian Sea to the long list of their leisure trips. Interestingly, the Corporation will organise a ride in the luxury boat Nefertiti. The trip begins at noon on May 16 from the KSRTC bus stand in Kottayam. The bus would reach Bolgatty Palace at 3 pm and the passengers can board the boat from there. After enjoying a five-hour long ride in the sea, the passengers return to Bolgatty Palace by 9 pm. The ticket costs Rs 3,560 per head for adults and Rs 1,250 for children.

Interestingly, the boat has the approval to travel up to 12 nautical miles. Former President Ramnath Kovind had enjoyed a leisure trip with his family in Nefertiti.

Nefertiti facilities
Apart from travelling with individual tickets, people generally book the ship for holding business meetings, weddings and other celebrations. As many as 200 people can travel at a time on the 48-metre-long and 15-metre-wide mini-cruise ship. Built in IRS class for deep sea voyages, Nefertiti is registered under the Merchant Shipping Act. Facilities onboard include a banquet hall that can seat 200 persons, a restaurant, a children’s play area, a sundeck, a lounge bar and a 3D theatre. The events already hosted by the ship include meetings of several top companies, doctors’ conferences and company secretaries’ meetings. Nefertiti is also a favourite location for film shooting and promotions also. Among the dignitaries who have enjoyed the cruise is President of India Ram Nath Kovind, who travelled with his family and publicly expressed his happiness. Top celebrities, including superstar Mohanlal, have been among the travellers. Meanwhile, KSRTC is all set to organise more such trips.
