Idukki: The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) in Idukki has lodged a police complaint following an incident where a group of three individuals trespassed into the Vagamon Adventure Park on Sunday night. The Vagamon police have initiated an investigation into the matter, given the misuse and damage caused to the property by the trespassers. The misdeeds of the intruders were discovered when park staff commenced their cleaning duties on Monday morning, only to find liquor bottles and glasses strewn across the glass bridge. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, it was confirmed that the miscreants got into the park around 9 PM on Sunday and vandalised the washroom door, pipes, and drinking water bottles.

While Jitheesh Jose, the secretary of DTPC Idukki, expressed confidence in the ongoing police inquiry, the Head Officer of Vagamon Station emphasised the necessity of bolstering security measures within the park. He pointed out that although police conduct night patrols outside the park premises, there is a need for increased security personnel within the vast park grounds. He further recommended the installation of a barbed wire fence around the park. The glass bridge stands as a key attraction at the Adventure Park, especially during the ongoing summer vacation period. Nearby residents voiced concerns that such incidents could tarnish the park's reputation as a tourist destination.
