The airfares to Kerala from the Gulf region have skyrocketed, as usual, during the holiday season. The passengers are worried about the soaring airfares that may mar their plans to visit their homeland. The airports have been swarmed with Malayali travellers for the last few days. The schools in Kerala are about to reopen after the summer vacation and the families who were on visit visas in the UAE are returning. Meanwhile, expatriate political leaders too are eager to fly to Kerala to celebrate the Lok Sabha election verdict. The only saving grace is that the tickets to the UAE are cheaper. It would cost up to 1600 – 1800 dirhams if you book up and down tickets this month. The affordable airfares to UAE are the only factor that doesn’t cause financial stress on the passengers who are flying to Kerala. However, this might change next month as the ticket charges to both sides are likely to get pricier.
