Special Ooty Nilgiri Mountain Rail service for Independence Day weekend: Details

Are you already in trip planning mode for the upcoming Independence Day weekend? If experiencing the Ooty Nilgiri Mountain Rail aka toy train is on your list, don't worry about the crowds this year. The Southern Railway will operate a special service (06177) from August 15 to 17, for Sree Krishna Jayanti and Independence Day. The train, which departs from Coonoor at 8.20 am, will reach Ooty at 9.40 am. The train (06180) that leaves Ooty at 4.45 pm will reach Coonoor at 5.55 pm. This is in addition to the three services daily between Ooty and Ketty.
