Bengaluru: Keralites are overjoyed as the Indian Railways has decided to extend the Onam special trains up to December 30. These trains would be beneficial for the passengers during the forthcoming Pooja, Diwali and Christmas holiday seasons. Three weekly services from Bengaluru SMVT to Thiruvananthapuram North have been extended. Meanwhile, the special trains only have two two–tier and 16 three–tier AC coaches. These trains have stops at KR Puram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Thirupur, Pothannur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam town, Kottayam, Chanaganassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara, Kayamkulam, Kollam and Varkala.

These are the special trains that have been extended up to December 30
Bayyappanahalli SMVT – Thiruvananthapuram North Special (06555)
The train starts from Bayyappanahalli at 10 pm on Fridays and reaches Kochuveli by 2 pm the next day, from October 3 to December 26.
Thiruvananthapuram North – Bayyappanahalli SMVT Terminal (06556)
This special service will operate on Sundays between October 5 and December 28. The train departs at 2.15 pm from Kochuveli and reaches the destination at 7.30 am on Monday.

Bayyappanahalli SMVT – Thiruvananthapuram North Express (06523)
The train leaves Bayyappanahalli at 7.25 pm on Mondays and reaches Kochuveli by 1.15 pm on the next day. The service will be operated from September 22 to December 29.
Thiruvananthapuram North – Bengaluru SMVT (06524)
This train runs on Tuesdays from September 23 to December 30. It starts from Kochuveli at 3.15 pm and reaches Bayyappanahalli by 8.30 the next morning.

Bayyappanahalli SMVT Terminal – Thiruvananthapuram North (06547)
The train departs Bayyappanahalli at 7.25 pm on Wednesdays and reaches Kochuveli at 1.15 pm on the next day. This service will run from September 17 to December 24.
Thiruvananthapuram North – Bayyappanahalli SMVT Terminal (06548)
The service scheduled from September 18 to December 25 starts from Kochuveli at 3.15 pm on Thursdays and reaches Bayyappanahalli by 8.30 am on the next day.

Karnataka RTC announces special buses ahead of Pooja holidays
Karnataka RTC will operate special bus services from September 25 to October 7 to Kerala during the pooja holidays. The bookings for the special services will begin only after the tickets in the regular services are sold out. Meanwhile, the booking for the special buses to Ernakulam, Munnar, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram has already begun. Kerala RTC has also announced 20 special buses daily from September 25 to October 14.
