KSRTC has allowed three AC superfast premium buses with modern safety features and facilities for the Palakkad depot. Two buses would run services to Ernakulam, while one bus has been scheduled to Kozhikode. The new bus will replace the old AC bus that is running on the Kozhikode route. Meanwhile, both buses from Palakkad to Ernakulam will operate as bypass riders.
The bus from Palakkad will stop only at the KSRTC bus stand in Angamaly before reaching Ernakulam. The authorities said that these buses will be punctual as there is only one stop between Palakkad and Ernakulam. They expressed hope that these buses would attract more people to public transport facilities. As the bus reaches Ernakulam before 10 am, it would be helpful for many who work in offices.
The buses to Ernakulam start from the Palakkad stand at 6.15 am and 7.30 am. Meanwhile, the bus to Kozhikode will begin at 6.30 am, the same time as the already existing service. The brand new bus has 39 seats. Passengers can book tickets via KSRTC’s website, mobile app or at the counters. The inauguration and the flag-off of the three buses would be conducted within a week.
