Cyclists Sreenath Lakshmikanth and Su Yin Ong clinched the top spot at the Tour of Thekkady cycling championship held in Kottayam. Around 240 riders, including international athletes, took part in the event, which was organised by the Kottayam KEG Bikers in collaboration with Kerala Tourism. For the first time, the event was conducted in a timed category format. The season 5 race of the event was flagged off on March 14 at the Nagampadam ground by MLA Chandi Oommen.

The 'Tour of Thekkady' race followed the Kottayam - Ettumanoor - Pala - Neeloor - Muttam - Kulamavu - Cheruthoni - Kattappana - Puliyanmala - Anakkara - Thekkady route, and its finishing point was near the Periyar Tiger Reserve. It offered cyclists more than 3,000 metres of elevation. The top six riders in all individual categories of the race are also awarded entry into the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge 2027.
