Both runways of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will be closed for six hours on May 7, from 11 am to 5 pm. It is being termed as 'one of the biggest planned disruptions' at the airport. Several flights are expected to be rescheduled or cancelled as a result. It can impact both passengers and cargo movements. The shutdown is due to pre-monsoon maintenance and the contingency plan. It is an annual procedure to ensure the smooth landing of flights and overall safety. The operations it will affect runways 09/27 and 1/32.
