KSRTC launches September getaway packages from Kannur to Goa, Munnar

KSRTC's highly popular budget tourism cell is rolling out an exciting array of interstate and domestic tour packages from Kannur this month. Whether you fancy relaxing on a beach in Goa, experiencing a traditional Aranmula Vallasadhya feast, or trekking through the misty hills of Munnar, these carefully curated itineraries offer something for every travel enthusiast at incredibly affordable rates.

Goa beach escape
The highlights of the September itinerary begin with an interstate trip to Goa's beach paradise. Departing from the Kannur depot on September 18 at 5.30 pm, the tour will transition to a luxury AC bus from Thalappadi. Priced at ₹7,030 per person, this popular package promises a relaxing coastal getaway before returning to Kannur at 9 am on September 21.

Aranmula Vallasadhya and temple tour
For those seeking a spiritual journey, KSRTC is hosting a comprehensive temple tour departing on September 4, 5, 8, 12 and 15. Leaving Kannur at 6.30 an, pilgrims will visit Chottanikkara, Vaikom, Kaduthuruthy, and Ettumanoor temples, with an overnight stay at Chengannur. The second day features visits to the historic Pancha Pandava temples, Kaviyoor Cave Temple, Mannarasala, and Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple. A major highlight is the traditional Vallasadhya feast at the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple. The entire package, including the feast and bus fare, is priced at just ₹2,700, with travellers returning on the morning of the third day.

Munnar and Kanthalloor wilderness
Scheduled for departures on September 11 and 25 September at 8 pm, this package is perfect for nature lovers. It offers a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse of the rare Neelakurinji blooms in Munnar, alongside exploring the pristine locales of Kanthalloor and Marayoor.

Guruvayur temple pilgrimage with VIP darshan
Avoid the long queues with a hassle-free pilgrimage to Guruvayur, departing on September 5 and 23 at 7 am. The trip includes visits to Kollam Pisharikavu Temple, Kadampuzha Temple, and the Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary, followed by an overnight stay in Guruvayur. A special VIP darshan is scheduled for 4 am the next morning. The tour continues to Triprayar and Kodungallur temples before returning home.

Mookambika and Kudajadri hills
Starting on September 11 and 25 at 8 pm, this journey takes travellers to the revered Mookambika Temple for early-morning Nirmalya Darshan at 4 am, followed by an exciting jeep safari to the Kudajadri hills. It includes stops at Murudeshwar, Saligram, Madhur, and Ananthapura temples, topped off with a scenic visit to Bekal Fort, before returning to Kannur.

Wagamon and Ilaveezhapoonchira retreat
Departing on September 18 at 8 pm and returning on September 21 at 8 am, this scenic tour takes you through the verdant landscapes of Wagamon, Ilaveezhapoonchira, Illikkal Kallu, and Malankara Dam.

Ranipuram and Bekal Fort trekking
September and October are the ideal months to witness the famous light drizzle at Ranipuram. Departing on September 6 and 20 at 6 am, this package features trekking at Ranipuram, followed by visits to Bekal Fort and Bekal Beach and Park, with a return scheduled for 9 pm the same day.

Nelliampathy and Kollengode
To explore the dramatic landscapes made famous by various South Indian films, the Kollengode and Nelliampathy package departs on September 11 and 25 at 9 pm, returning by 5 am on September 14 and 28, respectively.

Adventure at Pythalmala and Ezharakundu Waterfalls
For the thrill-seekers, a trek up Pythalmala and a refreshing dip in the Ezharakundu Waterfalls are scheduled for September 13 and 27. The trip also features a visit to Palakkayam Thattu, with departures at 6.30 am and returns at 9 pm.

Nilambur heritage and nature trail
Departing on September 6, 12, 20 and 27 at 5.30 am this trip takes visitors to the historic Teak Museum, Conolly's Plot, Bungalow Hill, and the exciting new Glass Bridge. The bus returns to Kannur by midnight.
