Malappuram to Bengaluru Super Deluxe services
Commuters heading to Bengaluru can look forward to new travel options. A newly introduced Super Deluxe service will run via Palakkad, Coimbatore, Salem, and Hosur. Initially operating as a weekend-only service, the depot plans to convert this into a daily schedule in a phased manner. The bus will depart from Malappuram at 9 pm and reach Bengaluru at 6 am the following morning. The return journey will start from Bengaluru at 5.30 pm, arriving in Malappuram at 4 am.
Additionally, a second weekend service will operate to Bengaluru via the Thamarassery, Kalpetta, and Mananthavady route. This bus is scheduled to leave Malappuram at 8 pm, reaching Bengaluru at 6 am. The return service will depart from Bengaluru at 9.30 pm and arrive back in Malappuram at 7 am.
Direct connectivity to Nedumbassery airport
Air travellers will benefit from the introduction of two low-floor AC buses running directly to Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery. These airport services are scheduled to depart from the Malappuram depot at 4 am and 10 pm daily, offering a comfortable and affordable alternative for travellers.
Priyadarshini services for local commuters
To improve regional connectivity, the KSRTC is introducing Priyadarshini ordinary services, which offer free travel for women on specific routes. In the initial phase, these buses will operate on key local routes including Malappuram–Pantallur–Pandikkad–Thuvvur–Karuvarakundu, Manjeri–Parappanangadi, Malappuram–Kondotty–Edavannappara via Kozhikode, and Malappuram–Kondotty via Calicut University.
The scheduled timetable for the Kalikavu-Karuvarakundu route is as follows: The first bus will depart from Malappuram at 5.15 am and travel via Manjeri and Wandoor to reach Kalikavu. At 7.30 am, it will depart from Kalikavu and head back to Malappuram via Karuvarakundu, Thuvvur, Pandikkad, and Pantallur, arriving at 9.30 am. In the evening, a service will leave Malappuram at 5.05 pm via Pantallur, arriving in Karuvarakundu at 6.35 pm. The return trip will start at 7 pm from Karuvarakundu, arriving in Malappuram at 8.30 pm.
Official flag-off and schedule updates
The new fleet is scheduled to be officially flagged off by MLA P K Kunhalikutty. Passengers are advised that the announced timetables are preliminary and may be subject to minor adjustments based on operational requirements and passenger feedback.
