Idukki: A moving car caught fire at Elappara Chemmannoor on Thursday, completely gutting the vehicle. The car was carrying passengers from Tamil Nadu, all of whom managed to escape unharmed.

Locals alerted the fire and rescue team from Peermade, which rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. 

The passengers, identified as residents of Chennai, noticed smoke rising from the vehicle while it was moving and got out just in time before the fire spread. No injuries were reported in the incident.
