Admissions in Tamil Nadu universities; register for TANCET, CEETA-PG, 2023

The Anna University, Chennai, is conducting common entrance examinations for admission to post-graduate courses such as MBA, MCA, ME, M Tech, M Arch and M Plan in Tamil Nadu universities.

Registrations for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) and Common Engineering Entrance Test for Admission-Postgraduate (CEETA-PG), 2023, would be open from February 1 to 22.

Anna University is organising the exams on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government. The tests are meant to select candidates for PG seats in university departments, university/government/aided (engineering / arts & science) colleges and self-financing colleges.

Candidates from Kerala and other states also can take the tests. However, the admission would be based on the decisions taken by the authorities.

The tests

• TANCET, 2023, is for admissions to MBA and MCA courses.

• CEETA–PG, 2023 is for admissions to ME, M Tech, M Arch and M Plan.

Both are two-hour exams. Questions of the 2022 tests are available on the website.

Application fees

• Those interested can apply for the tests online. The fees for the entrance tests are: MCA Rs 1,000; MBA Rs 1,000; and CEETA– PG (Entrance + Counselling) Rs 1,590.

• Fees for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu: MCA Rs 500; MBA Rs 500; CEETA–PG Rs 795 (including 18 percent GST for Counselling).

Entrance test dates

• MCA: March 25; 10 am to 12 pm

• MBA: March 25; 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm

• ME, M Tech; M Arch and M Plan: March 26; 10 am to 12 pm.

There are 15 test centres, including Coimbatore, Nagercoil, Tirunelveli and Chennai.
