Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family watched the Nivin Pauly-starrer Sakhavu here on Thursday.
Pinarayi watched the movie after the inauguration of the renovated Kripa theater.
Interestingly, the film chronicles the life a dedicated communist named comrade Krishnan and the growth of the communist movement among the tea plantation workers in Idukki.
CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Thiruvananthapuram mayor V.K. Prashanth, A.K. Saseendran and V.K.C Mammed Koya MLA were the other prominent leaders who joined the CM.
The film's director Sidhartha Siva and other crew members welcomed the chief minister to the theater to watch the movie.
Sakhavu has witnessed a pretty good increase in the collections, after the first week of its release and has been receiving positive responses from movie buffs.
