Actress Remya Nambeesan has always been very vocal about her stance in the actress attack case unlike certain others who chose a ‘please all’ attitude.
Remya, who has been vociferously campaigning for the victim actress ever since the unfortunate February 17 attack, recently opened up to a daily about Association of Malayalam Movie Artists’ (AMMA) decision to expel popuar actor Dileep, who has been accused of hiring main accused Pulsar Suni to target the actress.
“AMMA's decisions are not made by a single person, but by a group. The decision to expel Dileep was collective. The announcement was made by the core members of the executive after getting the approval of all the members, including me, Prithvi and others. It was also mentioned that if Dileep is found innocent, he would be taken back in the association after making an apology to him,” she said.
When asked about the ongoing trial in the case, Remya said she has faith in the justice system of the land. “We have complete faith in the judiciary. And we hope that the conclusion of the case would be such that the culprit, or the one behind this heinous act, dare not repeat such a crime. Such a thought should never again occur in a criminal's mind. Let the judiciary and the police decide its course. We don't want to be affected by all the negativity,” she said.
The abduction and attack had taken place on February 17 when the actress was on her way from Thrissur to Kochi. She was taken around in her vehicle forcefully for about two hours before being dumped near actor-director Lal's home.
