'The director threw me out of a serial as his ego was hurt when I debuted in cinema,' alleged Rachana Narayanankutty .

Actress-dancer Rachana Narayanankutty has come out with the revelation that she too was targeted by the same serial director against whom Malayalam TV artiste Nisha Sarang had recently raised an allegation of misconduct.

"The director threw me out of a serial as his ego was hurt when I debuted in cinema," alleged Rachana. "He was upset about it and called me to say I need not turn up for the next schedule of the serial. Initially it made me so sad. The director's ego could not tolerate an actor of the same serial. He was also packed off soon."

Rachana said artiste's body AMMA and film stars have extended support to Nisha, who spoke out against the director. "I called Nisha immediately after hearing about it and told her I called her on behalf of all AMMA members. I assured her of support from all of us,' said Rachana, who is an executive member of the organization.

At the same time, indications are that a compromise is on the cards over the issue. Nisha said the TV channel has informed her that the director will be changed. "Hence I would be acting in it," said the actress who plays the lead role in it.

Nisha had claimed the director had approached her with ulterior motives right from the beginning of the serial, which had been airing for three years now. "Initially he used to send messages. Later he started behaving badly. I told the channel authorities and they warned him," she alleged. "I had been to the US with permission, but when I returned he tried to remove me. I continued because I had financial burdens," added Nisha while stating that he was vindictive.

The Women's Collective in Cinema has also declared support to Nisha.
