Win C: Vincy Aloshious confirms Mammootty suggested name, clears confusion

Actress Vincy Aloshious has confirmed that superstar Mammootty suggested she change her name from Vincy to Win C. She claims to have proof that it was indeed Mammootty who made the suggestion, and not anyone else. In an interview with Silly Monks Mollywood, Vincy mentioned that Mammootty may have forgotten about this because he had disappearing messages enabled on his phone.

In an earlier interview to Manorama News, Vincy had said that she falsely believed that Mammootty had suggested her screen name Win C after receiving the state award for best actress. She had claimed that someone else had misled her, giving her the impression that Mammootty had called her Win C. She addressed the issue again, after it became a meme. 

“I don’t know whether I will be trolled for saying this again. After I spoke about my name, I was trolled for over five or six weeks. Even if I tell the truth now, it will become a meme again. Someone had sent me Mammookka’s phone number to share photos of celebrations at a theatre where Kannur Squad was shown. I messaged him as I didn’t want to bother him by calling. I texted him mentioning the celebrations at the theatre. He replied, “Hi, isn’t this Win C?” He had spelled my name as Win C. I was really happy seeing that message. After that, I kept sending him updates about my movies,” said Vincy. 

Although Vincy tried to remind Mammootty of this message when she met the screen icon at the Filmfare Awards, the megastar denied sending the message. Realising it as a blunder, Vincy admitted that she was misled by someone else, in an interview. Soon, it became a meme fest. "Later, I received another message from the same number, stating that I should keep the name 'Win C.' I replied somewhat rudely, thanking him for the suggestion. He then messaged back, 'Did I really call you Win C? Did I ask you to change your name?' I was baffled by his confusion and even started to wonder if he was being foolish. I took a screenshot of these messages and sent it to Georgettan, asking if this was Mammookka's number. He confirmed that it indeed was Mammookka's number," noted Vincy.

Vincy stated that the confusion happened because disappearing messages option was enabled on his phone. “He had forgotten everything. When I told him that I had changed my name because of the messages that he sent me, he told me that he had forgotten about it. I have proof of everything in my phone. When I say this, people might dismiss me saying that I have come again with Mammookka’s story. But, now I am sure that the phone number was indeed Mammookka’s,” says Vincy.
