The actor was invited to inaugurate the Onam kit distribution ceremony at the event. She was also honoured with a traditional shawl by senior producers Suresh Kumar and Siyad Kokker. Meanwhile, the Producers' Association outlined several initiatives they plan to implement in the coming months, following the recent change in leadership.
B Rakesh, who has taken charge as the president of the association, spoke about the need to promote smaller films in theatres. “We are in discussions with the exhibitors’ association regarding this. This is being considered on a priority basis. We also plan to hold talks with the state government regarding the restrictions on shooting in the forest area,” he said. The Digital Cinema Council (DCC) will also be expanded across more theatres in Kerala, said Rakesh.
