'Received National Awards with cow dung in my fingernails:' Nithya Menen sharing ‘Idli Kadai’ memories

Actor Nithya Menen, who starred alongside Dhanush in the blockbuster film ‘Idli Kadai’, has shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the set, revealing an interesting anecdote from the time she received her National Award.

Posting a series of BTS photos and clips on Instagram, Nithya wrote, “Some behind the scenes of #idlikadai :). Almost a year now - I went straight from this to the National Award ceremony- with dirt in my fingernails :) having picked up cow dung with my hands just the previous day for a scene.”

The actor added, “I found the whole thing very poetic. ‘I went and received the Award from the president with cow dung in my fingernails’ I said to my friends. There was something compelling about that for me.” She also expressed appreciation for her team, calling them her favourites. “We are always family in good times and tough ones,” she noted, while reminding fans that ‘Idli Kadai’ is now available for streaming on Netflix.

Interestingly, the National Award Nithya collected was for her performance in ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, which also starred Dhanush. Released on October 1 this year, ‘Idli Kadai’ features Dhanush, Arun Vijay, and Nithya Menen in lead roles. Arun Vijay portrays the antagonist, while Shalini Pandey and Sathyaraj play key supporting roles.
