Music director Christo Xavier said his win at the Kerala State Film Awards made him doubly happy, especially as his latest film, 'Dies Irae', continues to receive acclaim in theatres. Christo received the Best Music Director (Background Score) award for his work on 'Bramayugam' and described the honour came as a surprise.

"I was already so happy that Dies Irae is being celebrated in theatres. This feels like an added joy for me. I didn’t expect the award at all. People had mentioned that my name was in consideration, and that alone made me happy,” he told Onmanorama.

He expressed his gratitude to those who have supported his journey. “I want to thank my parents for letting me pursue what I love and for their support. And Sudheeshettan (Sudheesh Gopinath) for giving me my first chance, and Rahulettan for giving me Bramayugam,” he said.

Christo said he spoke with Bramayugam director shortly after the announcement, and both were thrilled by the news. This award marks the third film in Christo’s career.
