The Kerala Film Producers Association has released a list highlighting the films that performed well at the box office this year. Out of the 184 films released in 2025, only 15 managed to do exceptionally well in theatres. According to the report, nine of these 15 films are categorized as superhits, while the remaining six are hits.

However, the full list of successful films is still pending, as some major releases, including Mohanlal's ‘Vrusshaba,’ Nivin Pauly's ‘Sarvam Maya,’ and Shane Nigam’s ‘Haal,’ are yet to hit theatres before the year's end. Dileep's 'Bha Bha Bha' is currently running in theatres. Other notable films that made the list include ‘Thudarum,’ ‘Lokah,’ ‘Empuraan,’ ‘Dies Irae,’ ‘Alappuzh Gymkhana,’ ‘Hridayapoorvam,’ ‘Officer on Duty,’ ‘Rekhachitram,’ and ‘Kalamkaval.’

On the other hand, films like ‘Eko,’ ‘Pet Detective,’ ‘Prince and Family,’ ‘Ponman,’ ‘Padakkalam,’ and ‘Bromance’ are among the six hits in the industry this year. Meanwhile, the Kerala Film Chamber has also published a separate list of box office collections, revealing that only 10 films were classified as hits, according to their assessment. The Chamber has expressed concern that the majority of films this year have resulted in significant losses, negatively impacting the industry.

In a statement, Chamber officials pointed to the lack of government support for the sector, particularly criticising the failure to address the industry's needs. They maintained that waiving entertainment taxes and GST could be crucial for the survival of the industry. Additionally, the Chamber has warned of a potential boycott of films in theatres starting next month if the government does not take action.
