Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan recently shared that he and his family have been targeted by paid cyber attacks. Speaking at the audio launch of his film ‘Parasakthi’, the actor became visibly moved as he discussed the toll these attacks have taken—especially now that his family is involved. His mother, Raji Dos, and wife, Arathi, were seen holding back tears as he spoke.
Sivakarthikeyan recounted the pain his mother felt after his father's passing, recalling her heartbreaking question to his father’s body: “Who will take care of him now that you’re gone?” That question haunted him, fueling his determination to build his own identity. “Now, I want to tell my mother that all these people are with her son,” he said. “If a thousand people try to bring me down, there are millions more to lift me up. True victory, for me, isn’t about material possessions, but about seeing you all stand by my side.”
Sivakarthikeyan’s words are relevant when the politics and unhealthy competitions within cinema often turn to character assassination. His statement about paid cyber attack points to the fact that there could be people who are envious of Shivakarthikeyan’s meteoric rise from a mimicry artist to a leading hero in Tamil cinema. Meanwhile, the actor has relied on his strong fan base to hit back at the trolls that are targeting his family. ‘Parasakthi’ directed by Sudha Kongara will hit theatres on January 10.
