Director S. J. Surya's blockbuster Kushi that released in 2000 had skyrocketed Vijay's fame. Surya, who had earlier announced that a sequel to Kushi was on his mind, has started its works, sources say.
However, it's been said that Vijay wasn't able to make space for Kushi 2 on his busy calendar. S. J. Surya, it seems, has now taken on a Telugu sequel to Kushi, the first version of which had featured Pawan Kalyan in 2001. Sources say that Pawan Kalyan would be cast in the sequel as well.
Eros International is expected to fund this project, which is expected to kick-start in May while Pawan wraps up his current film Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
