Holi Ke Din Dil Khil Jaate Hain (Sholay)
Sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, the peppy number from the popular 1975 movie was composed by R. D. Burman. Although the song saw the lead actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini romancing in the song, the song had all the flavours of a true Holi song.
Rang Barse (Silsila)
The 1981 song is one of the most popular songs during this festive season. Sung by actor Amitabh Bachchan himself, the song has an energetic rhythm and was picturised showing a community Holi celebration.
Ang Se Ang (Darr)
The 1993 movie starring Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan had this song as one pivotal sequence. Though it shows a family's happy Holi celebration, it also put lights on the character that SRK played. The lyrics begins as 'Ang se ang lagaana' and even takes a piece from the popular 'Rang Barse' song as well.
Hori Khele Raghuveera (Baghban)
Switch to 2003 and Amitabh Bachchan was back with yet another Holi song from the movie Baghban. He sang along with singers Alka Yagnik, Sukhwinder Singh and Udit Narayan. The song picturised on lead stars portrayed yet another happy family bonding during the festive.
Badri Ki Dulhania (Title Track)
Although the recent Holi blockbuster is 'Balam Pichkari' from the 2013 movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, we have opted for the 2017 movie song 'Badri Ki Dulhania'. Sung by Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar, this song has all the energy to be a Holi song. “Kurti pe teri malun gulaal, Rang bata blue ya laal, Air mein tere udte baal, Aaja rang doon dono gaal..” goes the lyrics and reminds us well enough to play with colours.
