Malayalam actress Honey Rose seems to be on a new journey. The 'Rachel' actress recently shared a video on her online page of her taking her first steps in boxing with her coach, Juby Raju, practising jabs and crosses. "Every kick and punch is a reminder of the strength and focus this art brings," said Honey, who said she is excited to train in the discipline. She joins the tribe of many fellow actors who seem to be into boxing of late, including Dhruv Vikram, Kartik Aaryan, Fatima Sana Shikh and Sakshi Agarwal. While a few of them take up the discipline to prepare for films, for many, it's also a way to stay fit.

According to Dr Jim Edwards of the Cleveland Clinic, it can improve heart health, full-body strength, hand-foot coordination, core engagement, muscle memory, muscular development, mental health, help with managing weight and more. All the practitioners need to do to get the best results from it is remember a few doable tips to stay injury-free.

a) Take it slow and ease into it
b) Make sure you wear fitting gloves, mitts and attire
c) Ensure your form is good and proper
d) Give enough time for recovery
e) Follow your trainer's instructions without fail
f) Ice sore joints or muscles and visit a doctor if pain continues

Is fitboxing and competitive boxing same?
Both routines have the same fundamental hooks, jabs, crosses, and uppercuts. However, they are quite different. Boxing for fitness is about improving health, and there is little focus on sparring with opponents. It's also very low risk for injury. However, competitive boxing focuses on preparing you to spar. It also focuses a lot on more technique, footwork and form.
