Dr. Jithunath’s elegant house at Thrissur has been designed by blending fabulous nature with smart designs and modern amenities. The single storey house amazingly sprawls in the 26 cents plot. The natural stone paved drive way, lush green lawns and the beautiful garden perfectly complement the spectacular elevation of the house.
The exterior walls are built using porotherm holobricks. This grants an ethnic charm to the elevation. Moreover, it reduces the heat inside the house. The truss roof paved with mud tiles and the huge windows play pivotal roles in maintain a cool atmosphere in the interiors. Interestingly, the structure and the roof are separated by glass panels which look mesmerizing when the lights are switched on at night.
Designed in 4500 sqft, this majestic mansion has a car porch, sit out, foyer, formal and family living areas, courtyard, pooja space, kitchen with an adjacent work area, four bedrooms, consulting room and a home theatre.
A long passage is what connects the entrance area to the rest of the house. Jithu’s wife is an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. So, the formal living area and the foyer have been decorated in unique Ganesh theme. Cute elephant designs could be seen even in the tiny detailing of the décor.
A few courtyards, both large and small, have been arranged inside the house. Some are water courtyards while some are dry courtyards decorated with indoor plants.
The traditional concept of having meals at the dining room has been broken here. Quaint dining areas have been arranged in the courtyards and in the kitchen too.
The beautifully furnished bedrooms are attractive and have great ambience. The water courtyards beside the rooms make these areas extremely cool and comfortable. The flowing water bodies decorated with fabulous water plants and bamboos give a dreamy feel to the bedrooms. These spaces are separated by sliding glass doors.
The flooring is done using various kinds of materials sourced from different parts of the country. Meanwhile, the exposed concrete on the walls add the perfect contrast here.
The spacious kitchen has all the modern facilities. The cabinets are done in ceramic finish. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with kota stone.
