110 kg to a slim model: Neha’s inspirational story of weight loss

Neha Mahajan had been suffering from all the woes that were in common with obese people. The 28-year-old regularly complained of severe neck pain, knee ache, back pain and suffocation. Doctors had even prescribed a major surgery for her severe neck pain. It was this which prompted Neha to take the most important decision of her life.

Besides the health problems, Neha had been a victim of body shaming as well. She was shattered when her boyfriend left her because of her weight. The youngster says that he even refused to click pictures with her as she was overweight.

“My weight was the main reason why our relationship was destroyed. I couldn’t even go out because of my overweight. Last year, I weighed about 110 kilos. I reduced around 45 kilos in just 18 months. I made significant changes in my breakfast meal. I ate a bowl of cereal with milk, 4 -5 egg whites and tea or coffee without adding any sugar in it,” says Neha.

Neha completely gave up her habit of snacking on unhealthy food. She drank lots of water when she felt the hunger pangs. Two chapathis, a bowl of yogurt and boiled vegetables were her lunch. The evening tea or coffee was avoided. She began to eat dinner at least three hours before she went to bed. The dinner comprised of dal and a bowl of boiled vegetables. She worked out at the gym for at least 4 days in a week. Junk food and fizzy drinks were strictly avoided.

Neha says that she became more confident when she noticed that she was losing weight. Her health improved and she became more active. In the meantime, Neha even landed some opportunities to model for a few fashion brands as well. “I was able to reduce my body weight as I began eating healthy food at the right time. Those who made fun of me are now busy showering me with praise,” smiles Neha.
