Nighttime veterinary services will be available at the farmers’ doorsteps in Wayanad's Pulpalli to provide emergency care for livestock. Those in need can call the toll-free number 1962 at night for emergency treatment and animal delivery services. The veterinary unit's service will be available from 6 pm to 5 am. Nighttime vet services will cover Pulpalli in Panamaran block, Poothadi, Mullankolli, Panamaram, and Kaniyambatta panchayat. 59 veterinary mobile units, including surgery units, have been allowed in the state under the Rebuild Kerala project.

The district was allowed three units, including a veterinary ambulance with surgery facilities. The afternoon mobile veterinary unit in Bathery and Mananthavady blocks will now function at night as part of the Livestock Health and Disease Control program. Meanwhile, the mobile unit at Kalpetta will be opened next week. Nighttime vet services would be available at all the blocks in the district by the end of this month via the toll-free number 1962. The animal husbandry department will oversee the mobile units' functioning and ensure nighttime services.
